How do I upload a video and which file types are supported?

Uploading videos is currently only supported on our mobile apps (iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Android).

  1. Go to the Videos tab in the bottom tab bar or the Videos row on the home page in the mobile apps.

  2. Press the "+" button on the top trailing corner of the navigation bar.

  3. Select a video by either:

    1. Recording directly within Eden.

    2. Saved videos from either your Photo Library or your devices Files.

    3. Link (Coming soon).

  4. Once you select a video you will be direct to the Upload Detail page to fill in the following details, which also go through extensive moderation:

    1. 16x9 aspect ratio cover image.

    2. Title

    3. Category (select from a fixed drop down list)

    4. Tags

    5. Language

    6. Location (optional). Providing a location helps serve videos in a specific location powering the Local Videos feed.

  5. Press the share button in the top trailing corner of the navigation bar.

  6. If your video passes our multiple layers of AI-powered content moderation, you'll receive a push notification informing you. Make sure you enable push notifications to receive this notification. If you don't have notifications enabled, check your profile between the next 1-10 minutes after you upload. It should show up in your profile.

Supported File Types

  • Primary Formats:

    • .mp4 (MPEG-4 / H.264 / HEVC)

    • .mov (Apple QuickTime)

    • .m4v (Apple MPEG-4 video)

  • Legacy & Other Containers:

    • .avi (Audio Video Interleave)

    • .3gp / .3g2 (Mobile video formats)

    • .mpg / .mpeg (Standard MPEG-1 or MPEG-2)

    • .ts (MPEG-2 Transport Stream)
